The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is a specialised agency of the United Nations. The purpose of UNESCO is to promote collaboration on educational, scientific, communication, cultural and education issues in order to contribute to a peaceful coexistence. UNESCO works to create the conditions for dialogue among civilizations, cultures and peoples, based upon respect for commonly shared values. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development underpins all of UNESCO’s strategies and activities.
